Past three months were busy at Musical Theater in Gdynia. Sometime I will write a nice story about that. Sometime. With Heavy we jumped on the plane, knowing only that the provider of the equipment is new. Building from scratch - equipment-wise.. and as it came to us later on, crew-wise to. Arriving early in the morning (as for me) we decided to "go for a walk", a long one in the City centre.

And walked around.

I don't know what these guys have with men on horses. That kind of statues were at almost every square.

Nice weather was a plus. Everything was green comparing to Gdynia.

At this point I wanted to see something else.

So we went to see the Atomium.

Nice. Big. Thought it will be more impressing. After a good mexican burrito, straight to the hotel to get some sleep before a get in. None of us knew how it will look.
All my fears about missing some equipment went away pretty fast. Everything went well. Seeing Vorst once again felt almost like a strange deja vu. We had as the PA vdosc, kiva and kara (main, outfills, center), monitors and frontfills with 15xt and arcs at the top deck (as monitors). So basically L-ACOUSTICS all the way. 30 sennheiser wireless systems with dpa 4088 mics and 12 iem's from shure. Each "banana" with z zip fixed inclinometer. Got to know, that bumpers for l'acoustics systems have a special lace to mount that device, but only one type fits and of course that is 'the expensive' one.

Just another one to prove that zips and gaffer tape keep the world from falling apart.
Sound would be ready much faster than those 2 days we got for get in but had to wait for the stage to happen. Sound checks, rehearsals. Everything worked fine.

Another reminder that put a smile on my face, though all the time spent indoors.

The invention of the day prize goes to... no idea who but I heard it helped. Hm...

Did a good time at get out, 3h. There were 4 guys from asp group, heavy, me and 4 local guys helping. It is just a proof that we need technicians to work fast and efficient. One good technician is better than 2 stage hands.
Now sitting at the Hotel in Antwerp, nice one I might add, I'm just going to sleep, sleep and sleep before tomorrow. It will probably be even better that last time. Actually, almost about waiting for it.
I almost forgot! Important thing - the show itself. You can easily feel a difference in attitude of all of us, crew (leftovers) and cast. The second show was good. That I can say. Thanks Heavy, Kris, Koen and Klas. Oh and I had a chance to mix with a dB meter, recording the whole show SPL levels, in case we would try to hurt somebody with loudness. Average - 97 (including dj part), peak 106dB.
